Assembly Topic - May Day- Celebrating and Honouring the Workers
May 1st is celebrated as International Labour Day or May Day in most countries around the world. It is a day dedicated to the hardworking men and women whose efforts keep the society running.
It’s a reminder that every road we walk on, every building we enter, every meal we eat, and every product we use exists because of someone’s labour. From farmers and construction workers to teachers, cleaners, office peons, drivers, and IT professionals — every role matters.
The children showed their gratitude for all the people whose work often goes unnoticed — house help, security guards, delivery staff, sanitation workers through a song and dance.
The Care and Share club members honoured the workers in the school with a small token to show their appreciation.
Takeaway Message: A nation grows not just by machines and technology, but by the hands and hearts of its people. May Day reminds us that every worker deserves dignity and respect.
So, this May 1st, let’s pause and say: _Thank you to the hands that build, clean, drive, teach, heal, and serve. Happy Labour Day!
